Are my strange vision symptoms causing my anxiety, or is it the other way around?
Hello everyone,I've been dealing with anxiety for just over a year now, and the main problem symptom that causes my anxiety is my vision. In the beginning, I would just feel really out of it and would get really anxious I was experiencing derealization. I was telling myself I was maybe going schizophrenic, I wasn't sure about what I was seeing, what I wasn't seeing, kept questioning everything I would see, hear, and thought I was going crazy. I was really scaring myself, and couldn't stop obsessing over my anxiety. My heart would beat harder and faster, but never to the point where I couldn't control it. My symptoms were more psychological if anything. Anyways, back to my vision. What happened eventually is that every time I would be talking to someone, I'd start feeling dizzy, nauseous, and my eyes would start to hurt. The way I'd see them was also as if I was looking through a magnifying glass the center focal point of what I was seeing was clear, but the rest felt a little off stretched or just picasso like. It's like I have to try really hard to look at someone, and it takes a lot of effort out of my eyes and mind. Over time, it's definitely developed into some form of social anxiety it's made me more shy if anything. I still go out, I'm still very sociable, and I am rather approachable I think. I just think I may come off as awkward sometimes, just because my vision issue comes in the way of conversations sometimes and it distracts me. Things also seem unreal to me, such as when I drive, or take a walk. There was a point where I was terribly afraid of nature because of these feelings of unreality which would make me almost paranoid about everything around me. It's as if eveyr little object had some sort of important significance, and I would be focused on it for no reason and would try avoiding looking at nearly everything. I just became really scared over time. The thing is, I see. I just that the way I see is strange, as if faces were distorted, almost zoomed in. This may sound weird, but sometimes, it's almost as if I would see a face within a face. It scares me to death, and I almost freak out when that happens. Generally, I just shake my head or just try my best to ignore it. Sometimes are worse than others. I have smoked marijuana heavily for just over a year, and took mushrooms 3.5 grams each time 3 4 times over a course of 2 weeks, which is way too much according to what you're supposed to do. But my symptoms of anxiety didn't fully come into effect until 5 6 months after I stopped using drugs entirely. Now it' s been over a year and half and I'm still dealing with heavy anxiety, mostly due to my vision, and I can't seem to get it away. My psychologist says I just take things too seriously, and I do plan on seeing an eye doctor very soon. Any suggestions? I'd really appreciate it. Thank you so much.
Continual headaches vision symptoms? Any docs in the house? Help?
I have been having bad headaches now for a 3 weeks. RIGHT behind my left eye. I have also been seeing streaks of light in both my eyes for a year. Tonight the headache is bad. It's not just a headache though. It feels wierd, like im kinda dizzy, but not dizzy, just feel funny. that side of my face almost feels numb but still painful at the same time. I have been smoking ciggys for 2.5 years desperately trying to quit I have had 2 CAT scans on my brain last year due to a head injury, but nothing serious popped up. I trust the doctors around here about as far as I can throw them because I live in Hickville USA, and this is starting to bother me. Why do I only get this headache behind my left eye? and why does it make me feel this wierd. What are the likely hood that two CT scans on my brain one in august and one in december both come back negative, but there actually was something they missed? When I go back to the doctor tomorrow what should I ask him to do?vision symptoms include periodic wobbly visionseeing double lights at night when they move periodic wobbly black lines in visionstreaks of light
What can I do about my memory and vision symptoms?
Years ago I had an MRI after a seizure and was told that my right lateral ventricle was enlarged, but on the borderline of normal. The pressure on my optic nerve was just slightly above normal too. The neurologist recommended to implant a shunt as a precaution. I definitely said no to precautionary brain surgery, but now I'm having a lot of symptoms that are consistent with hydrocephalus. I have an awful memory problem recently I've lost two entire weeks that even the photos from that family vacation don't really help with , my vision is becoming so impaired that sometimes I have to pull off the road because I can't see through all the black and white floaters. Then tonight my right eye could only see white for about 5 minutes. I am a poor, uninsured single mother.... Any ideas?
Post migraine vision symptoms? Help?
I'm 19 yrs old. I had a migraine a couple of days ago, where I experienced a blind spot and pain which is apparently usual. However, it has been two days since the migraine and I can't help but noticing that the center of my vision, roughly where the blind spot was, is ever so slightly cloudy, as if the blind spot is still there but not as bad. It's only very slight but I'm worried as I'm not sure if these kind of symptoms ever persist beyond the migraine itself. It's mainly noticeable in the dark. Any chance anyone could give me some reassurance or advice? Thanks.
Double vision symptoms in detail?
I have double vision in my right eye and have seen an optometrist and ophthalmologist about it, but didn't get any clear detailed opinions from them about what is causing the double vision, other than cataracts. But they say the cataracts are too small to be a problem, and the ophthalmologist seems to think that implies the double vision is also not a problem. Especially because I mentioned that I don't notice it when reading street signs in broad daylight. In other words, it only seems to happen in normal office light or less.To try to find out what the most likely cause of the double vision is, I'm going to try to describe a phenomenum associated with it, in enough detail that it might ring a bell for someone who has seen the exact same symptom When reading text, such as this, if I aim my head upward, so my eye has to look down to see the text, it looks close to normal. As I move my head down, so my eye has to be moving up to stay on the text, a 2nd image of the text forms above the original image. As I keep moving my head down, the 2nd image gets brighter and the first gets dimmer. When my head is down all the way, so my eye has to aim all the way up, the 2nd image is close to normal, and the first is gone.Someone here mentioned that it might be caused by astigmatism, but that was before I mentioned the above exact details of moving my head up and down. Also the optometrist and ophthalmologist didn't mention anything about astigmatism to me.If you can think of what it's most likely to be, from the above symptoms, can you explain how the symptoms relate to that?To David E I was telling the truth when I said it happens in my right eye, not both eyes. Obviously I already did what you suggested, covering my left eye, or I wouldn't know it was only in my right eye.To Philliesballgurl The double vision happens in room light, not daylight, so it's not caused by any phenomenum such as what you mention, which is an afterimage from a bright light, or whatever.
