Help understanding my vision prescription?
My eye doctor must have been in a bad mood because he really didn't explain anything to me today. He only told me I have mixed astigmatism and my prescription says this right eye sphere 0.50cylinder 1.00axis 90left eye sphere planocylinder 0.75axis 70Mostly, what does the " plano" mean under the sphere category for my left eye?What does the axis category mean?This is the first time I've ever needed vision correction and I don't understand any of this. I just got my vision prescription. The CYL for right vision is -4.50. what is wrong here?
I just got my vision prescription. The CYL for right vision is 4.50. I try to buy eyeglasses online and realize that the minimum CYL available for eyeglasses is 4.00. I know I have progressive myopia., and it is worseing by the years. I recently tried to get this prescription filled with transition lenses and thin lenses with no avail. Can you bring a vision prescription to walmart and order glasses?
I take my vision test and get contacts from a local eye doctor. I now need to get a pair of glasses, but they don't have any that I like. My question is if I bring my prescription to walmart because they have a bigger selection will they let me order glasses without taking their vision test?

If you feel your vision prescription is a bit strong?
I recently got a new eye glass, but I think the prescription is a bit strong, because it's giving me a slight dizziness which continues for a little while after removing the eye glass. Can I go back to the eye glass store, and complain? Do the eye glass stores honor this kind of complaint as it affects your eye health which is very important to you? My insurance did cover for the eye exam, and provided allowances for the lense and frame. Of course, I had to pay co pay and pay what the insurance didn't cover.What can I expect how the eye glass store will react if I tell them what I'm tell you on this board?Can they issue a lower prescription and change the lense with lower prescription without additional charge?Right, this is not my 1st pair, but was 1st time I bought from this store.
Reading a vision prescription to order contacts online?
I am interested in buying contacts online, and I have my prescription, but I dont know what number means what, in order to fill out the order forms. It doesnt help that the prescription is written poorly.It says0D 825 100 x03505 825 100 x.25 or 125?What do those numbers mean, which is the power, which is the diameter, which is the BC?

How do I slowly increase vision prescription strength?
Hi everyone, I recently had my eyes tested and the computer stated that I required a prescription of 2.50. I was wearing 1.0 at the time so the Optometrist prescribed 1.50 in order to slowly step me up to the 2.50. Instead of spending all that money on new lenses frames at the Optician's, I purchased cheap reading glasses at the pharmacy with strengths of 1.50, 2.0, and 2.5.How long should I wear each strength before moving up to the next level?Thanks for any insight I am far sighted the glasses are for near vision reading, computer, etc. . I had initially gone to the Optometrist because I was experiencing a great deal of eyestrain and headaches, which have decreased a little since starting on the 1.50 glasses close to two weeks ago. The Optometrist had said that it is a rule of thumb in the industry not to jump anyone up more than 0.75 at a time because the eyes would not adjust comfortably.

+0.25 vision prescription?
When I was young I was diagnosed with corneal dystrophy in my left eye. Ever since then, the vision in my left eye has been perfectly fine, until now im 20 . The doctor said that the vision in my left eye has gone down slightly and i was farsighted but the vision in my right eye is perfect so it compensates for the loss. She gave a prescription of 0.25 for my left eye but said i didnt realy need it. I was just wondering if should get it though. I am a student, so I spend a lot of my time in lecture halls and stuff so if my right eye is doing most of the work, i dont want in the vision in that one start to go down as well. Would 0.25 be a noticeable difference? When i look at far things with my just my left eye, i do notice it isnt as clear as with my right eye. iuno, any suggestions?
