Can u join the army with 20/20 in one eye and 20/40 in other with 30percent vision loss in right eye?
I joined the marine corps in 2006 and was told by my recruiter not to disclose any info about my bad eye. I passed meps without a problem and when i got to mcrd san diego i was discharged in reception after the eye exam. i stlill didn't tell them about my previous injury, they diagnosed it as retinitus its realy scar tissue coupled by a slight cataract and acute peripheral vision loss and made off with an eroneous enlistment with an re 3f rentry code. I am now trying to join the army and am having to now tell meps about my previous injury and surjery, I have a letters from two opthamologist stating that i don't have retinitus and that my eye condition is stable and non progressive. they both recomended me for active duty. what are my chances for a waiver and getting my boots back on.
Can Optic Nerve Head Drusen cause optic nerve thinning and field of vision loss?
I have thinning of my optic nerve head, blind spots in my field of vision and have been told that I have optic nerve head drusen. I've been to the optometrist three times and he sent me for a test at the ophthalmologist for a test Spectralis RNFL but did not refer me to see the ophthalmologist. Is it possible that the thinning and the field of vision loss is from the optic nerve head drusen. Should I be more concerned, my optometrist doesn't seem to be overly concerned. Should I go to an ophthalmologist or continue seeing the optometrist? Any help would be greatly appreciated
Nausea, hearing and vision loss; what happened?
I had a bad case of nausea everything stay down, though followed by burning sensation in the ears and flashy vision. That progressed to near total loss of hearing and flashy, kaleidoscope vision. No chest or head pains, though. Was mildly nauseous the day before, but everything else came and went in 10 15 minutes. Any idea what may have been? No alcohol was involved and I doubt I had food poisoning. Never experienced anything so severe.
Migraine causing vision loss?
Well, I have for a month now had a little bit of upper peripheral vision loss, or it is just really blurry, I can't tell I need to be eating no migraine causing foods but I eat them either way.. even while the medication fails ... can this lead to permanent migraine effects. Technically since there really is no peripheral Vision loss, I am confused, since migraine aura effects are all made in your head, I can imagine it improving if I stop eating that stuff that causes it and get my new medication.. do you think i can reverse it after messing up bad?well it is silent without any aura effects.. sometimes it does get an aura effect but either way last time one happened was nov 6 and right now i still have some blocked out peripheral vision nonstop for a month
Regarding strokes and vision loss?
My mother in law she's a widow suffered a stroke on 10 30, and although she has no paralysis, she has lost her vision. From what I understand, her drs have told her there is a chance her sight will return, and for a few days she was able to see shadows, now however it seems to have gotten worse. What I would like to know, is there anyone here who knows of someone who has had this happen, and did they regain their eyesight? I can't believe this has happened to her, she's so lost, and so very depressed...to lose your sight so sudden and unexpectedly, it's such a shock. It seems as if there should be some sort of outside help she could get, I find it so strange that one can lose their sight and the hospital just expects you to go home and carry on...so far the family has been taking turns staying with her, or having her stay with them, but it seems like there should be a better solution, there should be some sort of specialist to show her how to cope with her loss of vision, and I don't know where to turn to find the help... It's so hard to know what to say to her, I try to reassure her that her sight will come back, even though I don't know that it will. It's so sad, she was an avid reader, and now all she can do is sit and listen to the radio, or the news on tv...it's such an adjustment for someone to make, she's in her late 70's....
Complete vision loss in right eye, now partial in left?! No headache currently? What do I do?
I'm 15 and have been waking up with bad headaches and complete blindness in my right eye, now partial in my left eye. It usually goes away by lunch but on thursday it didn't so I went to the E.R. and they thought I had ocular headaches. I went to a neurologist friday and he thought it was probably a complicated ocular migraine. He said to call if my vision doesn't come back by monday. I still can't see. Is this a normal occurrence in ocular migraines? Will I have to be hospitalized if my vision doesn't come back? Been through 3 long ones recently and don't feel like another. He also mentioned an EEG, what would that show?I'm getting kinda freaked out and scared now Please help

What would explain sudden vision loss?
I'm having unexplained vision loss and I'm scared. Please help.Growing up I had perfect 20 20 vision then suddenly when I turned 18 I started to experience a mild vision loss. At first it was not even enough to need a prescription but it started to get progressively worst very quickly. I kept having to go in and get stronger and stronger glasses contacts. Now two years later I am 20 years old and my prescription has doubled went from a 1 to a 2. The higher the number the worst your vision is. Its so bad now everything is blurry without contacts. I can't even legally drive anymore without glasses. And it seems like its only going to continue to get worst. I've done everything I can to try and stop it. I don't read anymore, watch t.v or go on the computer but I never did too much before this started happening. Why is this happening to me at such a young age? And why so suddenly? If this is genetic why did I have perfect vision until I was 18? What can I do to make it stop if anything? Is there any way to reverse it?I'm really scared that I'm going to end up legally blind by the time I turn 25.

Is this vision loss?? Please Answer...?
Sometimes when I just wake up in the morning I open my eyes and everythings kind of blurry, but it's not my whole sight its just part of it. Kind of like something clear is in my eye and it feels as if something is in it too. This happens in both eyes but is not happening all the time mainly after sleeping for a long time or rubbing my eyes hard and if I blink a few times then the blurryness goes away. It is not always blurry in the same spot place, sometimes it's in the corner of my vision, sometimes it's in the center, etc. I have had this for a while but have just thought of it as something in my eye witch is what it feels like. Is this vision loss or is something just in my eye?
Too much dizziness and vision loss when standing up?
I think I have orthostatic hypotension but I am not sure. When I stand up I get the normal dizziness but my vision also fades to black for a few seconds or longer. Sometimes I get tunnel vision. I am a runner so I thought it could be from having a runner's pulse, but no one on my team experiences vision loss or as much dizziness. I am not dehidrated either. Is there anything I can do to stop this? Or do I need to see a doctor?
Loss of vision. loss of balance, overheating.?
Hello, I am a 22 year old male, who has been experiencing some strange symptoms. For the last two years almost every time I've went to the washroom I have had blood in my stool. Now for the last 14 years I've been experiencing loss of vision temporarily. Lasting 30 seconds to 2 minutes. While this happens I seem to lose all balance and I feel as though I'm overheating. After I recover my vision I feel very sick to my stomache. It happens to me whether I am in the shower, sitting, walking, standing, and if there are some sort of noticable temperature changes, I.E. getting into and out of a hot shower. Also for the last few months I've been very tired even though I am getting a full 9 hours of sleep almost every night. I used to be very active and my vision loss happened almost 3 times a week, but in the last 6 months, as I am no longer nearly as active as i once was, it has risen to 2 3 times a day.
