Wearing non-toric lenses on astigmatic eyes?
My last contact lense test 11 months ago found that I had astigmatism in one eye. Now, a normal spectacle eye test has found no astigmatism. Does it matter if I wear a non toric lens on my eye? Can anything happen if someone wears non toric lenses on an eye with astigmatism? Thanks.
Why don't contact lens manufacturers make high cylinder toric lenses for dry eyes?
Several companies manufacture soft contact lenses for people with dry eyes and astigmatism, but most of them stop making toric lenses at a certain cylinder. What I'd like to know is why. Is it because of some physical limitation in the lens material? Or is it that there isn't a big enough market? Is it more expensive or more difficult to make lenses in a high cylinder? My astigmatism isn't that horrible it's only 3.0. But my eyes are dry and I need all the help I can get in that area. The trouble is, I can't wear most dry eye lenses because they don't make a toric version or the toric version is made only in lower cylinders. For the life of me I can't understand why a manufacturer would stop making lenses for dry eyes at a certain prescription level. I emailed some of the big manufacturers, but never got a response. I don't expect to solve my problem, but I'd like to know why I can't. Thanks.
Do I need toric lenses?
Hi About a year ago, I got my eyes checked and the optometrist told me I have astigmatism. She gave me glasses but I don't wear them 24 7 sometimes for reading school because my eyesight isn't too bad. Anyways, I would like to try out colored lenses, just for fun. Last time I wore some cheap, regular, contacts for fun, they slid around my eye and caused a lot of discomfort. Recently, I heard about toric lenses. Do you think I would be better suited with toric lenses? Thanks
CONTACTS. what happens when you dont order toric lenses for astigmatism. lets say you only order where they...?
where they ask for the left and right color. what difference does the CYL and AXIS do and the eye base curve?
Do they make toric lenses with a cylinder of -1.00?
I have worn glasses for about 16 years and I recently decided to try contact lenses. The contact I got for my left eye is prefect, I can see everything crystal clear. But the contact I got for my right eye is not quite right. My prescription is 1.75 with cylinder of 1.00 and an axis of 115. I'm assuming that contacts for that exact prescription just don't exist. The contact I got were 1.75 cylinder 1.25 and axis of 110. Is this just something that doesn't exist? Are my eyes not able to have contacts because of this prescription? I can still see, but it's not very clear. Thanks.
Toric XR lenses vs. regular toric lenses?
Is it really necessary to buy toric xr contact lenses rather than regular toric contact lenses? I recently just got back to using contacts and the toric xr lenses' price was almost triple my old toric lenses' price. I know eye care is very important, but do I really need to purchase these sky high priced lenses? I wore contacts about 2 years ago and I've always had a high prescription and an astigmatism. My old contacts were about $60 3 months, while my new ones are priced at $180 3 months. I really don't mean to be stingy, but these are putting me way over my budget.
I need +7.0 and +9.0 toric lenses. Do you know a brand with a prescription this high?
Is it necessary to wear toric lenses or i could just wear regular contact lense?
I have an astigmatism of 75 on both eyes and is it necessary for me to wear toric lenses? What if i chose to wear regular contact lenses only? Best answer 5 stars 4.50 on both eyes
Are there problems if someone without astigmatism wears toric lenses?
I recently got acuvue oasys for astigmatism and at first they worked good but now they are more and more fuzzy. Are there problems if I dont have astigmatism and I wear toric lenses? My optometrist checked my eyes, put in the regular oasys and since after 20 minutes they started to become blurry he decided i have astigmatism and put those in and they seemed to be fine. And my question is if, theoretically, i do not have astigmatism and i use toric lenses, will i have problems. And my question is if, theoretically, i do not have astigmatism and i use toric lenses, will i have problems. They go in and out of focus. like for the first hour today when they were in, they were blurry not bad but a little hard to see things. then it got really clear for a few hours, then really blurry and now it is a little blurry.
