What happens if I wear a non toric lens in an astimatic eye?
Can someone please tell me if I can order non-toric lens based on my contact prescription?
Hi, I am about to place an order online for colored contacts I currently wear Acuvue Oasys Torics . The contacts that I am looking at that I really REALLY want do not come in torics, but I see many reviews where people with astigmatisms leave out that part of their prescriptions and are seeing just fine. My prescription is right eye Power 2.00 CYL 1.75 AXIS 100 left eye Power 2.00 CYL 1.25 AXIS 80Is there any way at all that I can get away with wearing a contact that is not a toric lens? I can handle slightly lower quality vision but obviously what would be the point if everything is blurry and I can't see good enough to do daily tasks? I read somewhere online that you can actually increase the power by a certain amount depending on the astigmatism to compensate for wearing normal contacts. If anyone knows what strength I should order please tell me I would so appreciate it. Thank you

When I went in for my latest eye exam, I found out that I had slight astigmatism. My eye doctor told me that I might not even have to get toric lenses, and originally fitted me with a spherical prescription. This worked out fine for me for months, until I went back to school and although I could see objects fine at all distances, text was still a bit blurry. We decided to go with toric lenses since I will still be a student for another year.I want to buy circle lenses but the toric ones are way too expensive for me. I want them for a special event and will only be wearing them once or twice, anyway. Considering the circumstances, I just want to purchase the spherical lenses. Please, no warnings about wearing the wrong lenses, or any of the FDA regulations on circle lenses. For everyday wear, I use my normally prescribed lenses or glasses and don't need anyone to preach to me.Here is my prescription LEFT EYED 2.75CYL AXIS 0.75 010BC 8.6DIA 14.5RIGHT EYED 2.75CYL AXIS 0.75 160BC 8.6DIA 14.5I understand what the base curve, diameter, and axis means. I am confused as to what power my spherical lenses should be, though... From the research I have done so far, I would guess that means one part of my eye needs 2.75 and the other needs 3.5 so I would average the two to 3.125 and either decide whether i wanted to go with 3.0 or 3.25 but then I have also seen people say that with such a small difference I could potentially go with 2.75 in the spherical lenses. Any and all help is appreciated, but please keep criticisms at bay.

What happens if I wear a regular contact lens instead of a Toric lens?
I recently went in to get contacts for the first time and was told I would need a toric lens for my left eye because of a slight astigmatism. So I was given a toric lens for my left eye and a regular lens for my right eye. A week later I could see just fine with my right eye and still blurry in the eye with the toric lens. So I went back and was re examined, and given a different toric lens to try. Still blurry in that eye. The problem is every time I blink or get up and move around the lens shifts or something and distorts my vision very badly. The question is, what would happen if I just used a regular lens instead of a toric lens. Seeing as how my glasses never corrected for my astigmatism and I could see just fine would the same be true for contacts or would it not work seeing as how the contact actually rests on the eye? My left eye has been diagnosed with cataract and the doctor is giving me a choice. I can either go with regular lens which is included in the price, or the toric lens that will cost extra 226 dollars.What would be the right choice here?thanks a lot
Toric lens or nontoric?
i just had my eyes reexamined. I went to a new center to have the exam. I had my eyes previously examined a little less than a year ago. I wear proclear toric lens left 1.75 Right 2.00. The new place that I went too examined me and prescribed Bausch and Lomb purevision lens. not toric . the left 2.75 the right 2.25. I feel like the exam did not go as well as I would have liked. The lens that they gave me made my vision slightly blurry. I also am concerned about the difference in my prescription. It seems like a big jump. I am not sure what I should do. The doctor said that if I can " get away" with the regular ones I would save money, but I don't care about the 10 or 15 dollar difference I want to see well. Any advice would be appreciated.
