Should I get soft lenses instead of rigid?
I got tryout rigid lenses a week ago. They are uncomfortable and keep slipping off my cornea. It kind of seems that they are good only for looking straight forward one of the reasons I got them in the first place was to be able to look sideways and still have correction when I try to turn my eyes they start to get uncomfortable and when I really try to take a good look at something they slip. I guess it might be that they get caught on my eyelids and lose adhesion. Is it possible these tryout lenses are any different from the horridly expensive real deal? Are soft lenses more adhesive?Yea, tryout they are different colors and usable only for two months, the real ones are for two years. And BTW, forgot to clarify I got astigmatism and nearsightedness nystagmus which is issue only because from distance I see better if I move my eyes to some strange position, apparently that's what makes them slip

Rgp lenses or soft lenses?
I've been wearing soflens toric 66 lenses by bausch& lomb since 2006. I stopped wearing them after half a year and now i am wearing them again after a whole year of not wearing them at all and only wearing glasses. I find that they are very uncomfortable and am looking to get a new brand. I also read up on rgp lenses and am considering them. my prescription for contacts is Right sph 5.00, AX 180, CYL 0.75, BC 8.5Left sph 4.75, ax 170, cyl 0.75, bc 8.5I have read that if my astigmatism is less than 1.00 I can probably just wear regular spheric lenses. Can an optometrist on this site verify that for me? Would it benefit me more to wear regular spheric soft lenses, toric lenses, rgp lenses, or toric rgp lenses? How much is an rgp fitting? Does my regular optometrist do this fitting for me?Thanks in advance

Rigid Gas Permeable contacts versus soft lenses?
I had slight myopia for years, since I never wore glasses contacts my vision remained stable and did not get worse. My vision isn't that bad. But it's bad enough wear driving school can be a problem. I can read normally already. My eye doctor told me to just wear glasses when I need them. I want to wear contacts instead. I hate glasses. Will rigid gas permeable lenses keep my vision from getting worse as quick. Can I just have some info on both. Thank you. I'm 17 by the way.thanks footprints. Do RGP lenses allow more or less oxygen to your eyes than soft lenses?
I was just fit with Synergeyes contact lenses on Saturday and will be getting them sometime next week. They have an RGP for better optics and a soft " skirt" for better comfort . I'm really excited about them, but I'm kind of confused about RGP vs. soft in terms of eye health. I asked tons of questions at the dr.'s, but forgot about the oxygen permeability factor.Enlightenment would be appreciated. Thanks Just to clarify, I meant to say, they have RGP center and a soft skirt. synergeyes.com for people who've never heard of them
