What is the thickest, most cushioning eye drops for RGP contact lenses?
I have severe dry eye, and the couple of eye drops that I have used only last for a few minutes and then my eyes are dry again. Is there a thicker and more cushioning eye drop that is safe to use with RGP gas permeable contact lenses.
New RGP contact lenses are like looking through water?
I just got my first pair of RGP lenses and I do understand that they take some time to get used to. What's happening, however, is that they are very sharp and clear for a second after I blink. Then they appear to slide into place over my cornea and everything gets blurry and ghosty. This is extremely distracting and causes me to want to blink constantly just to keep my vision sharp. Is this normal? Will it go away with time? Bad fitting? I can get used to the lenses but not the watery blur.
About RGP contact lenses?
I've been thinking on switching to hard contacts, because soft contacts are kind of expensive and my mother can't get out the idea that contacts are meant to be used for a year. I have astigmatism, but I don't mind using contacts not formulated for it, it doen't feel uncomfortable or moves like some people claim they feel, in my case I don't. In the optic I decided to go to, because it's a recognized one, and then I feel safer, they have only two types of contatc lenses available, or that's what they told me acuvue and o2optix, the second ones are too expensive for me I think, so i would go for the acuvue, but since this lenses are only meant for a time that varies from 2 weeks to 1 month acuvue clear I don't thinkmy mother would be very happy about buying constantly contacts. And the soft contatcs in vials use for one year are really expensive. Scandalously expensive I think. I need opinions about this, and specifically about RGPHow hard are they? How do you take it off?can't you fold them in any way, they never change their shape momentaneously like soft ones?
RGP contact lenses?
Is it safe to use soft contact lens solution with RGP contacts? I ran out of the RGP solution and no stores are open...
I wear RGP contact lenses. I used the solution for soft contacts on them. Is it ok to use? It feels better?
It is actually thinner than the solution for the hard contacts and I find this to feel better when inserting the contacts. My niece tells me it can stain my contacts. I don't understand what harm that would be since my eyes are brown and they don't show up anyway. I told her I would call the number on the box to see if I could use it and she said if I called they would tell me, no. Does anyone know if there is any harm in using soft contact solution on hard contacts? I can get the soft solution for free from my eye doctor, but they never have the gas permeable solution.
RGP contact lenses vs soft contact lenses?
Hello. I have been using soft contact lenses for the last 5 years and I have not been pleased with them. I used to think that I just need time to adjust to the lenses but 5 years? no way.The problem is that I can't see very well when I open my eyes wider for some unknown reason. I think it has to do with my eyelids pushing or pulling contact lenses I'm an asian and I have heavy upper eyelids I have severe astigmatism on just one eye and mild astigmatism on the other. I dont know which is which D CYL AXISLeft eye 4.50 0.75 160Right eye 4.50 1.75 10Would RGP contacts provide better vision correction even if I open my eyes bigger since they are much smaller than soft contact lenses?Thank you in advance
Non-ionic RGP contact lenses? Any eye doctors out there?
Can anyone tell me which RGP contacts are non ionic? I want to be able to take this information to my eye doctor to get a new pair, I've been having a lot of trouble figuring this out
For those who wear RGP contact lenses?
What brand of Saline Solution do you use? I'm having trouble finding one that say's it's ok for RGP lenses.
Why do RGP contact lenses irritate my eyes?
I've been wearing RGP contact lenses for about a year now. Every now and then they really irritate my eyes, and my eyes start to water and turn red, particularly my left eye. It gets really embarassing in public. Does anyone know what is the matter and what I can do about this?
Can you sleep with Rigid Gas Permeable(RGP) contact lenses?
I recently got a pair ot these contacts and i forgot to ask my optometrist whether or not I can sleep with them. If not why?
Has RGP contact lenses been helpful in terms of slowing your near sight down?
I'm 16 and both my eyes are around 700. I was given the option to get RGP contact lenses and from what I understand, they are hard, durable, uncomfortable at first, a little more expensive than soft contact lenses, CAN possibly slow down my eyes from getting worse.Right now I'm debating as to whether I should get RGP or get regular glasses. I definitely want to slow it down so my question is, first of all for anyone who's been wearing RGP, has it been helpful in terms of slowing your near sight down?Would you recommend it for a teen like me?
