Are there any advancement opportunities for optometrists?
I am doing a project on the occupation of optometrist and I need to know if there are any advancement opportunities for them? Thanks
Why do optometrists need to worry about over-correcting myopes or under-correcting hyperopes?
...but not about under correcting myopes or over correcting hyperopes?
What are the concave and convex cylinder lenses optometrists use for?
Do optometrists test their own eyes?
Lol, just a random question I've been thinking about... Because surely an optometrist wouldn't go to another optometrist to pay for something they can do themself? Or do they?Ohh haha, yes of course, I forgot about the refraction and slit lamp. What if they get a colleague to do it then?
Medi Cal covered optometrists in socal?
Last week I went to a free clinic in orange county to get my physical for a school sport. They said my medi cal is activated for a month and that I can go get free glasses. I lost the list of optometrists..does anyone have some in orange county that can be covered with what I have. Thanksim 15
Do we have too many optometrists?
I was just about to start community college, then later go into optometry, but, Ive been looking around, and is it true that the market is over saturated with optometrists? Like it would be impossible to find a decent paying job, let alone open my own private practice. Also id be 150K in debt.
Any optometrists here?
I've just come back from Canada working in a greenhouse setting with lots of high intensity discharge lamps in use with my uncle. Health and safety went out the window and we would be working as little as 3 feet away from a 1kW metal halide lamp for up to half an hour at a time quite often. Could this have done any damage to my eyes or do I not have to worry? My eyesight seems fine but I'm sure I wouldn't notice any damage straight away. They had reflectors but were raised so the bare bulb was within the line of sight. So the 'shielding' didn't protect my eyes.
What is the point of the sticky eyedrops you get at the optometrists?
The other day I had my eyes checked. The optometrist administered drops that felt " sticky" into my eyes. He then used some handheld device that touched my eye and had me look up into a blue light as he did so.What is this and what is the purpose of it?
Optometrist wrote presription for non-related wound that became infected,is he liable?
optometrist wrote penicillin script me to give a friend with a very serious hand wound which then became very infected with glass shards coming out with the fluid. My friend had to be taken to the emergency room for further treatment. Is he liable in any way?Stupid? Maybe on the optometrists part. The wound was flushed and a antibiotic cream put on and covered with medical gauze etc. Some people are not lucky enough to have medical coverage to afford them a trip to the ER.Maybe the optometrist could have taken the time to examine the wound for himself if he was so willing to write a script over the phone to someone he knew would be giving to a non patient.
