For those of you in the optometric field: Ever hear of anyone else like me?
I have severe antimetropia and I HAVE to have contact lenses. My prescription is 9.00 in my right eye and the left is 4.75 I still have function of both of my eyes. One is correctable to 20 25 and the other is 20 30. So I can drive and live a normal life. Have any of you ever seen anything like this before? As far as being comfortable I am. I've been like this pretty much most of my life so I guess I have adapted to it. I have had some complications such as latus degeneration and a posterior viterous sp? detachment in my right eye due to its sever myopia and I am probably lacking some depth perception but other than that I feel like I'm pretty much normal.I suppose a concern I would have though would be if I have children could this be passed on to them? I know of no one else in my family like me so it does not seem to be genetic but whose to say I'm not the first in a line of odd mutations? hehe.
