Why is my near vision worse with my new glasses?
I have received new glasses and my reading distance is worse with the new glasses than with the old. My distance vision is much better as my Right eye prescription had altered but why does my near vision become affected so much with the new pair?It was recommended i have varifocals but I chose against it for 2 reasons 1 I drive a lot and need good alround view because of the type of driving I do2 I felt my reading distance was not a big problem currently I could read comfortably all but the smallest print, so felt if this worsens I would purchase a separate pair of glasses for reading. But with my new glasses I can no longer read at a comfortable distance normal text that I could with my old glasses
Can i currect my near vision?
Is Monovision or bifocal contact lens easier to adjust to for distance/near vision ?
Has anyone had CK eye surgery to restore functional near vision?
I have seen advertisements for this and am curious...what does it cost? Recuperation time? Painful? Do you need reading glasses AT ALL after this surgery?Clarification From what I understand, this surgery is not LASIK. It's supposedly done with radio wave frequency. I know a lot about LASIK...this is something different entirely and relatively new here in Fresno, California. Anyone know anything about CK?
Help. Unable to see laptop at arm's length but told I don't need glasses for near vision as I am nearsighted?
When I use my laptop I can read the text with my left eye but not with my right. But I can see the screen with both eyes together. I noticed because after a while the right eye starts to ache. Because I am nearsighted I was told I don't need glasses for close up vision so what's the answer It shouldn't make my eye hurt to read at arm's length should it?
If you are near sighted do contact lenses distort your near vision?
I am thinking about getting contact lenses. I have terrible far sight but my near sight is good and when I wear glasses they distort my near vision so bad that I have to take my glasses off when I am stepping off a curb, say or reading. But this is fairly easy to do with glasses, do contacts also do this? If I wear contacts to correct my far vision will it distort my good near vision?
Prescribed glasses for near vision due to farsighted & they help for sports?
Sorry for the repost for anybody who read my original post, I unintentionally closed that one to new answers...My 10yo was given glasses for near vision reading, computer work, etc due to being farsighted. Initially he was complaining about eye strain & headaches when reading doing close work. Both eyes are .50 and he finds they help him when playing baseball he says that the glasses make things larger & easier to see.. Does this make sense? I asked his Dr. who said if they help go ahead & have him wear them but some people think it doesn't make sense they would help. It does seem to me that since the ball is going from far away to near it could affect how he sees the ball as it gets closer & he does seem more secure catching the ball with them. He has had a tendency to be jumpy in the past when the ball is coming directly at him. Thanks for any answers anyone may have.
What's more tiring to your eyes, far vision or near vision?
Just wondering. I'm nearsighted but wanted to get an accurate answer.
Very blurry near vision with contacts?
I wear 3.25 and 2.75 contact lenses, when I first look at something near, the vision is very blurry, until I make my eyes focus. This is only with prescription lenses, is this over correction?
Can someone have 20/20 distant vision but 20/25 near vision?
or vice versa?
Can I expect to have the same near vision with contacts as I do with my glasses?
I have astigmatism.
Does long periods of near vision alter sight?
If you spend long periods of time in front of the computer or a book for example, does it give you or help to give you lens faults? I'm not talking about the radiation and stuff just whether it will cause you to need glasses.
