Multifocal Contact Lens

What is the preferred multifocal contact lens?
I do not have normal eyesight. I've had cataracts at birth and was given monovision throughout 5 operations. Contact lenses I've read about hard and soft. These can be quite expensive.... though I've seen some that are monthly or even daily disposables. Considering my eyesight, can I find suitable prescription for myself? I like the idea of disposable contacts, and not having to maintain permanant ones. I've read that hard contacts give the clearest vision... but how hard are they? Do they hurt, or make you cry? Can they fall out easily?Glasses Are most multifocal glasses universal or unique?
