What is the maintenance for weekly and monthly contact lenses? I want easy maintenance but don't want dailys
How do you know when to throw out monthly contact lenses? In other words, how do you count 'one month'?
I just got monthly contacts and I'm reeeally confused as to how you're supposed to count 'one month'. Do you start counting RIGHT AFTER you tear off the seal of the contacts even if you don't wear it every day? Or do you only count up how many days you wear them and toss them out when you reach 30?? I don't wear my contacts every day probably only once or twice a week and I don't want to throw them out after only wearing them 4 5 times, but is it safe to store it in Clean Clear solution for extended periods of time?? For example, I opened my current pair of contacts in August and I've only wore them 12 times since then.. Should I throw them out now that it's been a month or should I keep wearing them until I reach 30 days??? HELP

I'm guessing no since the optical assistant said that she often gets 2 months wear out of her's. Though, I just realized that I had been wearing the same contacts for like 3 months I used to wear yearly contacts, so I'm not used to switching out every month. I had what I think was a temporary eye allergy problem which caused lens discomfort in my right eye. I switched to monthly disposables. I still had the problem at first which caused my right lens to break after only 2 weeks I kept taking it in and out, rubbing it . Then, I didn't have problems with my contacts at all. In fact, I just realized I've been wearing the same pair since November my right one is just starting to get a flimsy, filmy appearance so I switched to a new one. But my left hasn't given me any probs, so am I to believe that it is ok to wear them this long? Like I said, I'm used to yearly's, so I do the daily rubbing and enzyming when I remember . The contacts are so $$$, $80 for a 6 mon. supply. I'm tempted...to wear them until they give out on me or for 2 3 mons. But since they're not designed for this, I worry. Then again, I wore my yearlys until they ripped sometimes it was less than a year, sometimes several mons. later. I really never kept track contacts are a pain. I suppose I should go back to yearlys now that I think this was just a temporary allergy or something, not having anything to do with the contacts. I've never had problems with yearlys in the several years that I've worn them, though I know disposables are supposed to be better for your eyes yeah right, I think it's just a money ploy .
Do monthly contact lenses build up protein in your eyes?!?
I use dailies, but they're more expensive. I was thinking of switching to monthlies, but my mam is adamant I'll ruin my eyes. My eyes are very sensitive and I've had strange eye infections before so I don't wanna risk damaging them.

I just got my contacts yesterday and after taking them out I put them in their little case and solution overnight to disinfect them. My question is though..how often should I change that solution..do I need to change it every day or every few days?
