Contact strength with monovision ?
I have been using a contact in the right eye 2.00 for a few years. Today I was given a 2.25 to try. Now call me crazy but the 2.25 provides very clear vision for distance but the middle distance is not good. The 2.00 is good for the middle but the distance suffers a bit. The near vision is fine with both. I will have to go back and make a decision with my optometrist soon and wonder if this is a common issue? Any suggestions? Thank you. Thanks David, What I am worried about is the driving. It is far better with the 2.25. I had tried a CooperVision multi focal but they did not work for me. Are the Proclear EP multifocals also?Thank you
A question about modified monovision contacts?
They say you are supposed to wear the distance lens on your dominant eye. My dominant eye is the right eye, however my right eye seems to want to do all the reading, and my left eye seems to be naturally better at distance. Does the dominant eye have to be the distance eye?
What causes blurred vision after taking out my monovision contact lens?
I have been wearing one contact lens for 4 months. I believe it is a bifocal lens. I see great for reading and adjusted to the one lens, my problem is when i get home from work, take the lens out. Everything is blurry in that eye. I cant see the computer, i cant see the TV. Whether Im looking at something up close or far away. I worried Im ruining my eyesight in that eye by just wearing one contact. Please let me know if anyone has any of these same symptoms w monovision contacts, hopefully I'm not crazy Thanks
Natural monovision?
I have glasses that are simply prescribed for each eye as normal .50 and 3.50. I find them impossible to wear, and a good explanation is that each lens produce different magnification.Without glasses the longer sighted eye is selected at distance and the shorter sighted one is selected very close up. I think that it would be better if I had two 0.5 lenses so that I can keep my minovision but see in the distance better. The more near sighted eye could do with being a bit less nearsighted, and the magnifications would be the same.Does this sound viable? Would the optician be prepared to at least let me try this?Yes eyetek I have tried no glasses at all. As I said the longer sighted eye is selected so it is like both eyes being .50 when I don't wear glasses. Slightly too blurry for comfort but not bad.
Eye strain with LASIK monovision?
I had LASIK a couple of years ago and did the monovision option. I'm generally very happy with it, but I find my eyes get very strained and tired after a day of using my computer at work or doing detailed work. Would it help to use a pair of reading glasses? Or distance glasses like I use when I'm driving?
Your lasik monovision experiences?
I had lasik monovision 10 days ago. Although I saw quite clearly but not 20 20 for a couple of days afterward, the following week was very difficult with lots and lots of fluxuation in both eyes, and at work eye strain and irritation. The doctor is encouraging and advises patience, but I'd love a pep talk or advice from anyone who's had monovision lasik. At this point I'm not sure what's affecting my vision adjusting to mono or the healing process. My next follow up with the doc is in two weeks. I'm disappointed that I didn't see perfectly the very next day as I've lots of friends who had it, and did
Is it possible or practical to get monovision glasses?
If I get lens implants and need one glass for reading and the other for distance, would that work? Would it be similar to monovision contacts? Has anyone heard of this?
I am a 52 year old guy (with myopia and increasing presbyopia), considering monovision Lasik surgery.?
I have tried wearing contact lenses for a few days as a trial , but I am concerned for a few reasons. 1. night driving is uncomfortable. 2. you have to concentrate quite hard for extended reading. 3. playing squash will take some adjustment. I read somewhere that monovision is " compromised unaided vision" , so in other words you compromise your vision to allow you to do away with the inconvenience of constantly taking glasses on and off. So I guess my question is this. How much does your brain compensate for having one eye for distance and one for reading? Do you eventually get to the point where you don't even notice at the conscious level , or is it something of which you remain constantly aware? I don't expect to have perfect vision as a result of Lasik correction, but at the same time, I am not sure how " compromised" I want my vision to be.Signed, " confused"
Optical - monovision by laser eye surgery?
I went for a laser eye surgery consultation yesterday and the consultant recommended I have laser eye surgery on one eye for distance and have surgery on the other eye for reading and close up work. Has anyone any experience of having this done please and how did it work out for them?
Rather than providing monovision (single-distance vision), the _______ lens gives people the ability to see n?
I have recently had monovision eye laser surgery to improve my distance vision.?
My treated eye is now seeing further away and my untreated eye sees well close up. At the moment I find it difficult to read or do computer work unless I cover the treated eye. Has anyone else experienced this and how long do you think it will take for my eyes to get into sync with each other??
What is monovision?
Monovision laser eye surgery?
I am shortsighted around 2 and am finally I'm 55 considering having my eyes corrected with laser Lasik surgery. At the consultation, I was told the best thing for me would be monovision, ie just one eye corrected to 20 20 vision, the other left as the reading eye, only the astigmatism would be corrected. I have worn contacts with some monovision for years, but found reading a strain, as there was not so much difference in the correction. Now I have been given soft lenses to try out the monovision as it would be after the laser surgery. I find it really difficult to make up my mind. I seem to get on with it fine in everyday life, but worry about that I'll always feel my vision is not quite right. I can read ok, but what about reading over longer periods? I can drive, but it's not ideal. Monovision seems ideal for my work when teaching, but not when using the computer. Has anyone had any experience? What do you think?
Monovision toric contact lenses on trial - wrong way round?
I have been given monovision contact lenses to trial but have noticed that the lens for didstance is not in my dominent eye which I thought it should of been. Has the optician made a mistake or does this sometimes happen. I am right handed but my dominent eye is my left.
