When you go for a check up and the doctor shines a light in your eye...?
Is he she checking for pressure against the optic nerve... or is it something strictly done when you go to the eye doctor? And if he does not... what are the symptoms of pressure against the optic nerve? I'm kinda freaked out now because I've had some real bad eye symptoms like burning and eye fatigue which I figured was eye strain and I can't get a doctors appointment until Wednesday but I happened to stumble across something about optic nerve pressure and brain tumours... needless to say, I'm freaked out.
When you look at a light, there's a print of this light in your eye. What is it called? (read more)?
Like if you look at the sun or a spot light, you will still see a " print" of this light when you close your eyes and when you try and look somewhere, it's still there. What's the name of it?Also, I sometimes see a print of light without looking at a light, like it's printed too hard and sometimes come back. What's the name of this phenomena? Thank you.
Is it true that if you shine a light in your eye, you can see your brain?
My Mother said that she read somewhere that when a Doctor looks in your eye with a flashlight, they can see your brain. That sounds almost impossible, but she swears it's true. Is it?I KNOW THAT IT'S NOT TRUE. My Mother refuses to believe me, so I went out to prove her wrong. Like I said, it's my Mother that thinks this, so don't tell ME to use common sense. Maybe YOU should read the question a little more thoroughly before YOU offer advice.
