I'm 14 years old... and I have moderate to severe acne.I'm in 8th grade and I have had acne since I was 11.My acne has now turned into scars.. on my forehead, cheeks and chin.I wouldn't say my acne is awful, but it is definately pretty severe for my age.I have tried everything to get rid of it.. but since I have scars, I've realized that there is no reversing the scars.My only two options are to go on a pill or get laser surgery.Since some pills can have serious side effects.. and I don't really like the idea, I am going to save that for my very very last resort.I have seen a dermatologist before.. he prescribed a pill.. but that was when I was only 13.Anyways, I have been really considering getting laser surgery for my acne blemishes scars.It's bad enough that I know I'm going to need laser surgery.I really don't want to deal with acne through highschool.. so my goal is to get it gone by then.my critical question is though... how old do you have to be to get the laser surgery for acne done? and i don't need to worry about the money, bc my parents said they will pay for it.I am willing to go through pain to get my scars gone.if I'm too young, I really am pretty much screwed.I'm 14 years old right now, going on 15 next year.ummm.. thanks.but i've already used proactiv.. and pretty much anything there is out on the market..i have scars, they don't go away on there own.and it's not easy to deal with.all i'm really looking for is some info on laser surgery for acne.. and how old u have to be..i've heard that accutane does work pretty good.my cousin went on it when he had acne, and it completely cleared up his skin.but then again, there is also really really bad side effects and some people have even been put in a hospital and died from it.i don't really think it's that safe, and i wouldn't want to go on accutane bc i would probs get really bad side effects.
