My family has a history of Retinal detachment and I have had it checked and I will in the future have the same outcome. I will have to have laser in the future to stop it happening, so I won't have to have the surgery. But I also have short sightedness. Do you think I could still meet the criteria to have the laser corrective surgery for short sightedness?

Contact lenses, glasses or laser eye treatment?
So since the age of 7 ive worn glasses. My eye sight is pretty bad and when i dont wear glasses i have to get about 10cm away from something to read it.Im 14 now and im wandering whether or not to get contact lenses or wait till im 16 or whatever age it is to get laser eye treatment. My friends got contacts but say its difficult to look after them and you might loose them or forget to take them out. And im sorta fed up with glasses. ive considered laser eye but i dont know.Whats the best and why?
