Question: Which is the front and back of eye contacts?

Let it sit on your finger like a bowl. If the bowl is perfect, you're holding it right. If the edges of the bowl seem to flare outwards, then it's inside out.

I'm not sure which brand of contact lenses that you have, but I have Acuvue. The lenses have "AV " imprinted in them. When I put the contact on my fingertip before putting it in my eye, if the letters appear as "AV " then I know that the lens is inside out. Most contact lenses have something written on them to find the good side. If yours don't have, then you can tell by the shape of the lens and its edges. If it is like a 'U' shape, it's the correct side. Good luck!!
