Question: What vitamins, fruits, vegetables, eye exercise, and even study habits prevent more poor sight after 50?

Parents usually get their first study glass after 45- 50 years old, but each year they need a new stronger glass. Is there a way to help them prevent more poor sight?

To stop getting older is the only way....but THAT is the hard part. Parts wear out with age , we can't do anything about that. The lens of the eye can't be rejuvinated with diet changes. They don't always need changes that often. I needed my first reading glasses at 48 and I'm only on the 3rd change 11 years later.

Food etc will not prevent the need for glasses after age 50. Needing glasses to read somewhere between age 40 and age 50 is a normal part of aging.

You can't really stop the progression of worsening vision, but you can slow the progression by eating foods high in antioxidants (like fruits and vegetables) and trying a vision vitamin. The pharmacy sells many formulations. Most have several antioxidants, especially Lutein. Antioxidants can protect your eyes (and other tissues) from damage caused by free radicals. These vitamins aren't a miracle and won't restore vision, but over time can help to slow age-related vision loss.
