What's the machine used at eye exams?
when i went to the eye doctor, they would have me sit down and place my chin on this surface and look into this machine y like thing and at first it would be all blurry because my eyesight is absolutely horrible and then it would focus and because clear and i would see that it was either a red balloon or red hot air balloon that was far away. Can somebody please tell me what the machine is and how it does this? thanks

Where can I get a CHEAP!!! eye exam?
I know that it will vary from place to place but I thought I might get a few ideas of some low cost places that conduct eye exams or even where I might find some coupons. Walmart charges $75 right now and im looking for cheaper because im going to need to order contacts as well. All I need is my prescription which I lost when I moved and walmart only keeps records up to a year.So if you can put two and two together, I've been wearing the same pair of " sample" contact lenses for a year now. So its obvious that I don't have any money, thus the reason I am asking around for cheap prices.Thanks for all your help guys
