What do eye doctors do when looking for infection?
I'm going to the eye doctor tomorrow, because I wear contacts and my eyes have had a rash like thing on them, blood shot and tearing a lot. I've also had a little discharge. I think I have an eye infection... Anyways, what will they do when testing for an infection? What exactly happens?

I always feel like eye doctors make my prescription stronger than it needs to be so that my eyes get weaker and they'll be able to keep taking my money forever. Can they do this? I'm asking because I just got my new glasses and they HURT. Usually when my prescription changes there is discomfort but this time it was a lot worse. And 2 years ago when I got my eyes checked I felt like the right eye prescription was too strong. I got my eyes tested in India after that and the doctor said that the prescription for my right eye WAS too high so he fixed it. My new glasses with that prescription were a lot better and my right eye didn't deteriorate as much as my left. Also, my prescription right now is REALLY bad 7.50 in left and 6.75 in right and I'm convinced they do it on purpose. I don't trust the doctors here. They say eye exercises don't work but the ones in India tell me to do them and they have worked for some people I know. Here they say they'll make my eyes worse which is why I'm too scared to try. What should I do? Is there any way to tell the doctor that it's too strong? I tried but they keep telling me my eyes need to adjust. Do they just do that because I'm young sixteen and my eyes can adjust and therefore worsen and then they'll have a lifelong patient? Can I improve my eyesight in any way??? What about contact lenses, do they help? And when should my eyes stabilize? My friend's stabilized when she was 12 and it's like 8.00 in both eyes. I don't want my eyes to get that bad PLEASE HELP ME 10 POINTS Also, responding to the last person that answered I know that I'm growing so they will keep getting worse, but the doctors keep telling me India and here that it's hereditary. Neither of my parents wear glasses, so I'm not sure why this is happening. They said that your eyesight is determined before you're even born. Do you know why this happens? And also you don't have to be so condescending, I'm not stupid. It's just that I don't trust doctors over here because it wouldn't be the first time their way hasn't worked.
What are wrong with my eyes? People who have glasses or are eye doctors , please answer my question?
In the past i have asked bout this before , but its still happenin but now even worst . today my eyes were blurry all day . like i can make out things like words , but it takes effort an it hurts my eyes an gives me a headache , my parents said they would take my to a eye doctors because they wanna prove im liein . but , the eye doctor is gonna give me a eye test thing , an i know im gonna pass it , because again , i can make out the words an letters . People in my family wear glasses . An then sometimes when i look at people , there faces are blurry but i can till tell who they are an what they look like . if that makes since . But , i want this to go away , because im tired of havin to squint or my eyes hurt because im focusin to hard , an it givn me a headache , but i feel like the doctor will think im liein if i pass the eye test part . an im really not . Help ??so even if you can make out the words an get all the letters right on the eye test part , they wont think your liein ?
Strabismus and/or Lazy Eye help? any eye doctors out there?
Well it's been year since i've had strabismus, although mines isn't as drastic and when you look at me normally, it's kind of hard to notice it. but my strabismus which probably also causes my lazy eye i think i have two lazy eyes i can control them but at times it gets hard like in the mourning is really starting to annoy me. I was wondering if anybody out there had this problem and could help me out. Is there anything i can do to help improve it or fix it? if surgery's your answer will that impair my brain and affect me badly? or other solutions like covering one eye is that helpful? Be as specific as possible please.I would greatly appreciate anyone who answers this question for me.Thanks for the responses so far. Nancy yeah i've also heard of them U V I'll look into Phoria thanks, but i forgot to mention my eyes tend to look slightly inwards not really noticeable but its always there and sometimes one eye random gets lazy. I have gone to eye doc. she told me i have strabismus and i haven't spoke to them since. KasumicatThanks for your answer. when i was young i remember a doctor said i needed surgery but then another one said i didn't so i didn't get it. i dont remember what surgery. I think i have a slight strabismus, hard to notice and when im tired or fatigued like you said they tend to wander like lazy eyes. I may have phoria or tropia like what U V said. idk.
I went to the eye doctors and he told me. ..?
he said i need to get an MRI for the brain, he found something extremely odd. He showed me pictures he had just taken of the inside of my eye, and he showed me how they was too swollen. I don't really understand the whole thing. I told him how bad my headaches can be and how sometimes my eye turns places and i would have to blink for it to get straight again. Ive never had eye problems, i wear glasses only to read.so should i be worried?
Can eye doctors tell how long you have been wearing contacts?
I have to go to my eye doctor having worn my contacts for a minimum of 2 hours I can only manage to put them in an hour and a half before my appointment because my appointment starts to early will they be able to tell
Are theere any eye doctors that can help?
Last Sunday night i was wiping off makeup on my eye and scratched it with a paper towel and i wasnt able to see or go to school for two days. I went to med exrpess last night and they said not to wear my contacts for a while. Do you hink it would be alright to wear my contacts to school tommorow? I have been putting in prescriped eye drops in my eye everyday every 4 hours. My eye doesnt hurt anymore either. If i can wear contacts tommorow should i wear a brand new pair or the ones i was wearing before is cratched my eye ive been wearing those ones for about 2 weeks i an wear them for up to a month ?I didnt mean i went to med express last night i meant monday night
Are ophthalmologists better with vision testing than Pearle Vision eye doctors?
I'm currently 25 years old and I used to go to this eye doctor at Pearle Vision because I'm near sighted. Every two year I go to her for checkup and she ALWAYS changes the prescription each time I go. She claims my vision is getting slightly worse overtime, so she needs to make the prescription a little stronger so I can see a little better. I have a nice collection of old glasses because she's always changing the prescription every two years. Well, after my last prescription with her got me dizzy and she got cranky on me because I questioned the prescription, I decided to go to an ophthalmologist the following year. He was very highly recommended by my physician. When I went to him, he had to change the prescription a little bit and oddly enough, it was very different than what the Pearle Vision doctor prescribed. So I got another new pair of glasses that year. Now, two years later, I went to back to this ophthalmologist for my checkup and guess what? He said everything is ok and there was no change on my prescription. So, I get to continue wearing the same glasses that he prescribed two year ago.I was shocked that for the first time in over a decade, I've never had a change in my prescription. When I told my friend about it, he told me that the reason why that Pearle Vision eyedoctor kept changing my prescription is because they just want to make money since she works at Pearle Vision and they're in the business of selling eyeglasses. Since ophthalmologists don't make money selling glasses, they're not going to change the prescription if it's not necessary.Is my friend right? Is it better that I go to an ophthalmologist now rather than one of those Pearle Vision eye doctors?
Can i take frames to the eye doctor?
So i found these frames online and i want to waer them but idk if my eye doctor would do that for me did anyone ever buy frams that werent from your eye doctors and get them filled??

I went to the eye doctors, because I have trouble seeing from far away, and she said I had a low prescription for glasses, what does that mean? do I need glasses? she really didn't say anything.I do not wear glasses right now
