Extended Wear Contact Lenses

I started wearing extended wear contact lenses and now when I wake up, there is mucus around my eyes.?
They are approved for 30 days continous wear. They feel great, but in the morning there is mucus around my eyes. A quick face wash and I'm good to go for the day. What could be causing it?

I would like to get extended wear contact lenses -- but is it okay if I DON'T sleep in them?
At the moment, I can only wear my daily wear lenses for about 12 hours at a time until they become uncomfortable although I'm usually awake for at least 18 hours a day . I would like to get extended lenses so I can wear them the whole time I am awake, but I don't think I'd be able to sleep in them, as I tend to have a LOT of trouble sleeping anyway.If I did get extended wear lenses, would it be okay to take them out every night before I went to bed?Thanks.

I'm going to buy the acuvue 2 contact lenses from 1800contacts, and am going to be trying them for extended use. " Acuvue 2 is designed to be worn as a two week daily wear lens which means you take the lenses out each night .These contacts can also be worn as a one week extended wear lens which means you can sleep in them ." This is a line from the website, showing that it can be used as 1week extended use contacts. My questions are 1 Will the contacts come off in the shower? 2 I will wear them at night, so I've heard the rumors of it getting stuck in the back of your eye, but my optometrist says its just a rumor and there is a membrane behind my eye so it couldn't, so nothing to worry about when sleeping right?3 Can i carry over days? Like i could wear the contacts 4 days in a row take them out and wear the same pare a day later for 3 more days to add up to the seven day total?Thanks, help is appreciated.

Can one use PureVision extended-wear contact lenses and still remove it every night?
PureVision's extended wear lenses are actually cheaper than the current ones I use 12hr wear . Taking my lenses out every night and the cleaning routine is not a problem for me normally. When I travel tho, it's quite inconvenient, specially when backpacking. So, is it possible to use PureVision's lenses but keep the daily routine of taking it out and storing it overnight? Can those lenses offer the best of both worlds? I use renu no rub multipurpose solution are EW lenses made differently in such a way that it's better to be kept on the eye rather than in solution overnight? Thanks.

I'm going to the eye doctors next week to see about getting contact lenses. I have astigmatism and I'm wondering if there are some long lasting contact lenses available. Maybe some you can wear for a year? I'm going to be new with contacts but I can touch my eye so they seem to be made for me and I'm soo tired of regular glasses, been wearing them since Kindergarten
