How to make 2-week disposable lenses last longer?
I know you're only supposed to wear contact lenses for the amount of time specified on the box or by your eye care professional, but contacts get to be very expensive, and I want to get the most use out of the contacts that I can, while still keeping my eyes safe.I realize that they are 'disposables', and I do have common sense, so I would appreciate it if you would stop being a jerk.
Are Encore Premium lenses 2-week or monthly disposable lenses?
My eye doctor prescribed them for me and told me they were 2 week disposables, but I've been looking online and some places say they are 2 week, and some say they are monthly. Are there 2 versions or is this debatable?

Should I go from soft disposable lenses to gas permeables?
I've worn contacts for 7 years now. For about a year and I half I've had fairly consistent eye problems with my soft lenses My eyes would get blood shot and then I'd have extreme sensitivity to light and sometimes I wouldn't even be able to open my eyes. Some eye doctors said it was from contact overuse. At one point I had dots on my cornea. Knock on wood, but I haven't had a HUGE problem in about 3 months. To spare your time I'll leave out more detail but basically my question is this I have the ability to get gas permeable lenses soon because of my insurance but I will have to live with them even if I don't like them. My eye doctor has somewhat recommended them for me as a " maybe" sort of deal. They worry me because it sounds like a big change, they are supposedly uncomfortable, and Im used to disposable monthly ones so if I were to lose my gas perm. it would be very expensive to replaceThanks for that long answer.I've done the research and was still torn between just continuing my current lenses or trying the gp's. I think that unless I run into the same problems constantly this year, I will stick with what I'm used to.You are right that cutting down the wear time would help. I have gotten better about it over the past year but I really need to work on it more. One eye doctor told me that my eyes were not getting enough oxygen so it makes sense to limit my contact use to 8 hours a day. that has been a difficult adjustment for me because I've never been a fan of glasses
Switching from disposable lenses to RGP, use the same solution?
I've got plenty of multi purpose solution for storage and cleaning left over and they all have " for soft contact lenses" on the label. Can I still use the saline for my RGPs?
A lot of questions on daily disposable lenses?
Hi I'm new to contact lenses, and I have a few questions here so do help me out. 1. When I take a daily disposable lens out of it's package, do I have to rinse it with saline solution, or some other type, or not at all?2. I understand that saline solution is for cleaning but does not disinfect. So if I accidentally drop a pair of d.d lens on the floor, can I use saline solution to clean it, or do I have to use a multi purpose solution or something?3. I'm gonna wear a pair of daily disposable lens out soon, but I'm going to be in a hurry at that time and I've not yet mastered the skill of inserting lenses. Should I open a pack now and practice inserting and removing non stop until I get the hang of it, or is that bad for my eyes?4. If I want to take a break from them for a few hours, can I pop the lens back into the package with the liquid thing inside, or do I have to buy a case and fill it up?5. I hear that d.d lens are like " insert a pair in the morning and throw them away at night" , but isn't that kind of... long? I heard you should only wear them for 8 hours max. I'm planning to wear them out as mentioned above but I'll be wearing them for over 10 hours... or should I bring a pack of soap and insert them there?Thank you so much and sorry for so many questions and a free internet hug to anyone who can help D
If you have corneal neovascularization, which is better - gas permeable contact lenses or disposable lenses?
I am not sure which offers my eyes more oxgen gas permable lenses or the newer, thinner disposable daily contact lenses. An optician at an eyeglass store sold me the disposables, but I am worried that his medical advice was biased by the sale. In the past, I have been told that gas permeables are the best for corneal neovascularization. The optician told me that things have changed with the evolution of the dispoable lenses. Any unbiased help would be much appreciated. Thank you so much
Are disposable lenses or regular wear lenses good. keeping the money factor in mind?

Question concerning CONTAC LENSES (soft, disposable lenses)?
I know that they say it's important to take out our lenses and clean them daily. But my questions are How harmful is it to sleep with your lenses still in?If you take them out to clean them every day & then put them right back in, is that okay? Or MUST you leave them in the storage case overnight?
