How long can you ware daily disposable lenses for?
I have been told by my optician that you can't wear them for more tha 4 hours ? It's just I seem to be hopeless at looking after my lenses you see, and keeping them in the solution and all that, so would be much easier to use the daily ones, but I will want to wear them for at least 10 hours. Is there a lense out there suitable for me?Hi, yes I am a new user I'm on my second day of a trial pair of monthly lenses I understand that the daily disposable ones have to be thrown away at end of each day, I was just wondering how long i.e. how many hours each day can they been worn for.

What is a good contact solution for disposable lenses?
I've been using opti free, and had no problems with it. I recently switched to Complete Multi Purpose Solution, because it was cheaper. However... I saw a TV show the other day about a girl that contracted an eye infection called Acanthamoeba Keratitis which can cause pain and eventually, blindness or even losing your whole eye if left untreated . I looked it up online, and there was a re call for " Complete Multi Purpose Solution" a few years ago because it wasn't disinfecting people's contacts against bacteria that caused eye infections. About 138 people have gotten the AK infection, and were also using Complete Multi Purpose Solution. This freaked me out, because recently my eyes have been itching, burning, turning pink red... which are the symptoms of the AK infection, as well as any other eye infection basically. So my question is, should I switch back to opti free? has anyone had any problems with it? can anyone suggest a good contact solution that really disinfects and cleans my lenses? thanks

A lot of questions on daily disposable lenses?
Hi I'm new to contact lenses, and I have a few questions here so do help me out. 1. When I take a daily disposable lens out of it's package, do I have to rinse it with saline solution, or some other type, or not at all?2. I understand that saline solution is for cleaning but does not disinfect. So if I accidentally drop a pair of d.d lens on the floor, can I use saline solution to clean it, or do I have to use a multi purpose solution or something?3. I'm gonna wear a pair of daily disposable lens out soon, but I'm going to be in a hurry at that time and I've not yet mastered the skill of inserting lenses. Should I open a pack now and practice inserting and removing non stop until I get the hang of it, or is that bad for my eyes?4. If I want to take a break from them for a few hours, can I pop the lens back into the package with the liquid thing inside, or do I have to buy a case and fill it up?5. I hear that d.d lens are like " insert a pair in the morning and throw them away at night" , but isn't that kind of... long? I heard you should only wear them for 8 hours max. I'm planning to wear them out as mentioned above but I'll be wearing them for over 10 hours... or should I bring a pack of soap and insert them there?Thank you so much and sorry for so many questions and a free internet hug to anyone who can help D

I was wondering if i can wear my 1 day disposable lenses for 2 days will it b ok my eyes..?

Is stretching the rules for disposable lenses really bad?
i have monthly disposables and i end up wearing them for 2 months or longer because i lose track of time lots. i never sleep with them on but i wear them all day every day because i don't have a pair of glasses currently. As soon as i get up in the morning i prop myself on my elbow and pop them in and don't wash my hands or anything. i let the lenses soak in solution over night though. The only time i put new solution in the case is when its looking a little low or the solution looks really filthy. My eyes get bloodshot lots and hurt most mornings when i put them in, but when i've gone to the optometrist they say my eyes are fine for the most part not wearing them for quite as long will help. I'm worried that it might cause an infection or something bad. Is what i'm doing really stupid, or do people commonly misuse their lenses? Is this wrecking my eyes?

What do you think about 'Johnson and Johnson" disposable lenses?
I have a very important occasion next week , and I don't want to wear my glasses , so i decided to buy one use lenses but am afraid that they could damage my eyes or something .I actually cant wear lenses all the time since I have quite sensitive eyes , so if you tried " Johnson and Johnson" lenses would you recommend me to buy them ?

If you have corneal neovascularization, which is better - gas permeable contact lenses or disposable lenses?
I am not sure which offers my eyes more oxgen gas permable lenses or the newer, thinner disposable daily contact lenses. An optician at an eyeglass store sold me the disposables, but I am worried that his medical advice was biased by the sale. In the past, I have been told that gas permeables are the best for corneal neovascularization. The optician told me that things have changed with the evolution of the dispoable lenses. Any unbiased help would be much appreciated. Thank you so much

Can 1 month disposable lenses be worn for more than just one month?
i have monthly disposable lenses can i wear them for more than one month they don't feel scratchy and there not ripped

Should I go from soft disposable lenses to gas permeables?
I've worn contacts for 7 years now. For about a year and I half I've had fairly consistent eye problems with my soft lenses My eyes would get blood shot and then I'd have extreme sensitivity to light and sometimes I wouldn't even be able to open my eyes. Some eye doctors said it was from contact overuse. At one point I had dots on my cornea. Knock on wood, but I haven't had a HUGE problem in about 3 months. To spare your time I'll leave out more detail but basically my question is this I have the ability to get gas permeable lenses soon because of my insurance but I will have to live with them even if I don't like them. My eye doctor has somewhat recommended them for me as a " maybe" sort of deal. They worry me because it sounds like a big change, they are supposedly uncomfortable, and Im used to disposable monthly ones so if I were to lose my gas perm. it would be very expensive to replaceThanks for that long answer.I've done the research and was still torn between just continuing my current lenses or trying the gp's. I think that unless I run into the same problems constantly this year, I will stick with what I'm used to.You are right that cutting down the wear time would help. I have gotten better about it over the past year but I really need to work on it more. One eye doctor told me that my eyes were not getting enough oxygen so it makes sense to limit my contact use to 8 hours a day. that has been a difficult adjustment for me because I've never been a fan of glasses

Question concerning CONTAC LENSES (soft, disposable lenses)?
I know that they say it's important to take out our lenses and clean them daily. But my questions are How harmful is it to sleep with your lenses still in?If you take them out to clean them every day & then put them right back in, is that okay? Or MUST you leave them in the storage case overnight?
