I am living abroad, should I buy contact lenses online?
I live in Japan with limited japanese language ability. I started wearing contact lenses here. I am long sighted with slight astigmatism and I don't understand the prescriptions I've been given. I was told by different eye doctors that it is not possible for me to obtain disposable contact lenses stronger that 5.00 so they gave me these 5.00 disposable contacts for both eyes. I wear these every day and about once a month exerience a migrane, which I was told is from eye strain. Headaches also happen when I switch between my contacts and former glasses around 5.9? in one eye 6.? in the other .I was recently given a glasses prescription of 6.5 for both eyes which I have not yet purchased. One opthamologist fitted me for hard lenses which were 6.5 and 7.00 8.1 13 but they were expensive and I don't want yearly lenses.Should I use the above prescription to buy soft disposable contact lenses online or should I keep wearing the 5.00 disposable lenses with the occasional migrane? Should I buy the yearly hard lenses?I am unable to speak to an opthamologist in English so if anyone has any advice I'd really appreciate it.Here in Japan the main focus seems to be selling the lenses rather than help the patient.

Does this make sense? Cigarettes are a known danger, they kill people, but you can go to any store and buy them as long as you are old enough. To buy color contact lenses, you need to go to a doctor, have them check you out, and then they will issue you a prescription to buy the lenses. Usually they make it a hassle with the prescription so that you buy the lenses through them.Why is one dangerous item cigarettes not regulated, but a harmless item contact lenses overly regulated?

I'm interested in buying contact lenses that act as shades. I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT THE COLORED CONTACT LENSES THAT ARE USED FOR COSMETIC PURPOSES. I'm talking about contact lenses like Optimal Vision Contact Lenses or the discontinued Nike contact lenses. I was reading through forums on buying contact lenses at Sam's club and someone mentioned that you don't need a prescription there to get contacts? I do have a prescription but it expired last month, and it'd be nice if i could save some money and not get the exam again. I'm a bit skeptical, does anyone have experience buying contacts from Sam's?note I just read on my rxn that it's against the law for anyone to dispense contacts without a rxn, I guess that answers my question
